Our Mission

At Working Canines vom Koontzhund Kennels, we are dedicated to breeding excellence in temperament, drive, ability and intelligence. We specialize in German Shepherds with European Bloodlines focusing on proper genetics to improve correct structure, color and working qualities.

Our Dogs

Our dogs are suited for Schutzhund, Law Enforcement, Search & Rescue, Therapy and family companionship/protection. All of our dogs are socialized in a family setting with multiple animals and children.

We pride ourselves in breeding and purchasing dogs that have elite pedigrees. When we bring adult German Shepherds into our breeding program they have been titled and proven in temperament and working qualities. Our adult German Shepherds have all been imported from Germany. They have shown they are able to replicate their qualities in their puppies.

At Working Canines vom Koontzhund Kennels we provide top-notch working dogs and the finest protection/Schutzhund dogs available along with great customer support - a combination that can't be beat!

We actively participate in volunteer training programs for dogs and foster "parenting" for shelter animals in need of temporary housing.

Through our commitment, experience, and expertise Working Canines has established a business relationship with our customers that will last a lifetime!

Our Founder

Working Canines was founded by Sheryl Koontz. Sheryl has over 30 years of experience training dogs in obedience, as well as 20 years as a veterinary assistant. She has also been the owner of a pet sitting business for over 20 years. Sheryl is very active in rescue and has recently launched a rescue organization PAWS TO LUV - working directly with shelters to pull purebred cats and dogs out of shelters and get them to foster homes or loving forever homes.
